The great beach at La Bernerie-en-Retz is a great place for the whole family to enjoy all year round!
It's easy to get to via a number of lanes in the town centre and directly from the town hall car park, the Bellevue car park.

Easy to use with a pushchair or wheelchair, but also suitable for scooters and bicycles, it's easy to get around thanks to the decking at the top of the beach.
Children come here after school to let off steam, play games and have a snack, while their parents enjoy a moment of relaxation.

All these wooden facilities, pergolas and sun loungers add to the appeal of swimming and water sports. The large sandy beach slopes gently downwards and there are no currents. Why not try your hand at longe côte, for example, a calf-deep or, more athletically, torso-deep walk in the water?

The beach is big enough for everyone to find a quiet spot, from mölkky players to volleyballers.
And what if you fancy an ice cream? Don't worry, the town centre is just a stone's throw away!

Come on, back for a swim?
Check the tide times, though, and if it's low, plan to go fishing on foot instead, or head for the nearby seapool.
